This detailed chart shows the path of the Resolution and the Discovery in January 1778 when Captain Cook first visited the Sandwich Islands, and again on his second visit in February 1779, when he was killed by the natives at Kealakekua Bay on the Big Island of Hawaii (Owhyee).
