"Carte De La Virginie, De La Baye Chesapeack..." Published by Bellin, 1757 This superior reproduction of the beautifully-engraved copperplate map by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, the Hydrographer to the Crown of France, was originally published in 1757 for the Histoire Generale des Voyages. Bellin surveyed all the known coasts of the world. This finely detailed charting shows the coast of Virginia including Chesapeake Bay in the south, and New Jersey in the north.
