This superior reproduction of the beautifully colored copperplate engraving by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, Elder [1703-1772], was included in Charlevoix's NOUVELLE FRANCE of 1746.

Bellin surveyed all the known coasts of the world after being appointed Royal Hydrographer in the French Hydrographic Service.
