Published by J.A. Buchon 1825

This superb reproduction of an original copperplate engraving was first published in 1825 by J.A. Buchon of Paris. Buchon published this engraving in his, "Atlas Geographique, Statistique, Historique et Chronologique des Deux Ameriques", based upon the cartographic material of Matthew Carey.

The Territory of Arkansas is depicted in detail as it existed in 1825. Arkansas was sold to the United States by France as part of the Louisiana Purchase of 1803.
