Hondius U.S. Cities Map - "Nova Virginiae Tabula"

Published by Henricus Hondius 1636

Henricus Hondius, the 17th century master cartographer, originally created this magnificent mapping of Virginia in full, rich color in 1636.

Particularly interesting in this splendid reproduction is the inset view of Powhatan's lodge. And the area depicted on the map as the Chesapeake Bay includes much of present-day Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C.
