The information and mapping offered on this historic map was copied by Nicholas King from comtemporary maps, including the cartographic information from Merriweather Lewis, one of the pair commonly known as Lewis & Clark.

Interestingly, most of the early names given to geographical points of interest remain today as they were at the time this map was published.
