This superb reproduction of the original beautifully detailed copperplate engraving of the views of Northwest America, is from Captain George Vancouver's, "VOYAGE DE DOCOUVERTES", which was published in 1799.

These areas of northern British Columbia and southern Alaska were visited by Captain Cook and Admiral La Perouse. The British Admirality then chose Captain George Vancouver to survey the northwestern North American coast [1791-95], resulting in these first detailed elevation chartings.
