Born in England, Sage Cox originally worked as an occupational therapist both there and in Canada before moving with her family to New Zealand in 1986. Settling in, she taught herself the techniques of silk painting and discovered that it was a medium well-suited to her love of vibrant colors.
Sage's current themes are based on fruits, vegetables, shells, and Chinese porcelain, all of which allow her to express her passion for energetic and dynamic colors. She especially enjoys the strong visual juxtaposition of pattern and colors with shapes and designs, both in nature and manmade objects.
Sage Cox now paints full time and her works are in private collections all over the world. She continues to find inspiration in her surroundings at her sun-drenched beach house in Golden Bay, New Zealand, where she lives with her husband and four children.
