The 184 foot Makahiku Falls, located on the east side of the island of Maui, is part of Haleakala National Park. The falls and surrounding lush vegetation command respect for the environment and are located in a reserve area, closed to the public and designated for its unique biological properties.

The falls itself is absolutely spectacular as the rushing water makes its way down to one of the many pools at Oheo Gulch, and it's an excellent example of the raw, natural beauty of Maui.
