Product description:

Koi are ornamental domesticated varieties of the carp family that are frequently kept for decorative purposes in outdoor ponds and water gardens.

They were developed from common carp in Japan in the 1820's, and they're still very popular there as a symbol of love and friendship. While many different colors and color patterns have since been developed, common ones include white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream.

Today, koi are bred in almost every country and considered to be the most popular fresh water ornamental pond fish. These fascinating creatures are sometimes referred to as "living jewels" or "swimming flowers."

In this view, artist Jack Wilson completes the composition by including a pair of lush water lily blossoms.
