When you think of any tropical locale, chances are that the iconic palm tree is one of the first images that comes to mind.

Generally tall and seemingly fragile, the trees are actually far more sturdy than they appear, and they're cleverly designed by Mother Nature to withstand ocean storms, heavy winds and harsh conditions.

Historically, palm trees have been symbolically representative of victory, peace and fertility.

Here, viewed from the perspective of Front Street in Lahaina, artist Jerome Fisher creates a scene so tranquil and inviting that you can almost hear the palm fronds rustling in the warm breezes, as the azure Pacific and the billowy white clouds complete the backdrop.
