"A New Map of Louisiana"

Published by Tanner, 1833

This hand-colored, engraved map of "A New Map of Louisiana" was originally published 1833 by Henry Schenck Tanner, of Philadelphia, in Tanner's Universal Atlas.

This map shows the State of Louisiana as it was in the early 19th Century, including canals roads and distances from place to place along the stage and steamboat routes. The map is completed with an inset of New Orleans including its principal points of interest.
