This copperplate engraving of Baja, California and New Mexico was originally published in 1705 by Nicholas de Fer.

This is the first map to document the discoveries of Father Eusebio Kino, a Jesuit missionaryand explorer, who spent several years trekking through the area. Father Kino was the first European to cross from mainland Mexico to the peninsula of California. This reproduction map also contains a key, listing 314 New Mexican locations.
