This superior reproduction of the copperplate engraving "Carte des Isles Canaries" was originally published by Jacques Nicolas Bellin in 1746 for the Petit Atlas Maritime.
Bellin, Hydrographer to the Crown of France, detailed the interior and exterior regions of the Canary Islands, incorporating the most accurate information available at that time.
A Spanish archipelago, the Canary Islands are located off the northwestern coast of Africa.
