"Grand Mare Del Sud O Pacifico"

Published by Vallardi, 1873

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This highly desirable reproduction chart of "Grand Mare Del Sud O Pacifico" was originally published in 1873 by Vallardi, an Italian book and map publisher.

This colored map shows detailed chartings of the Sandwich Isles, with dated references to the voyages of explorers Captain James Cook and Admiral Jean Francis la Perouse, as well as showing the Marshall Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Tahiti.

Also of interest is the annotation Maria Laxara, a mythical, uncharted island in the Pacific Ocean between California and Hawaii.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
