Product description:

Mentioned throughout literature, the night-blooming cereus is also known as the moon flower or lunar flower. Native to North America, the plant grows from a single stem in the ground and appears almost dead-looking.

They bloom on just one or two nights of the year, typically around May 30th. The flowers generally stay open until the early morning hours, but then close up for another year, so catching a glimpse of one can be fleeting.

Here, photographer Dave Shively captures one of these mysterious blooms in all its glory.

Lahaina Printsellers custom-prints this image on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using only the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years.
