Queen Triggerfish by Nancy Duell
There are some forty different species of triggerfish. These brightly-colored fish are often marked by lines and spots, and they inhabit tropical and subtropical oceans throughout the world. Most are found in relatively shallow, coastal habitats, especially at coral reefs.
Some triggerfish species can be quite aggressive when guarding their eggs and have been observed viciously defending their nests against intruders, including divers and snorkelers.
Here, artist Nancy Duell puts her own unique and stylized spin on a queen triggerfish.
