"Kahoolawe, Hawaii"

Published by United States Government, 1929

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This superb reproduction of the original full-color lithograph of the U. S. Geological Survey of Kahoolawe was published in 1929 by the U.S. Government. Surveyed in 1926, under the partial control of both the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey and the Hawaiian Territorial Survey, this map gives very detailed topographical information for the island of Kahoolawe.

At the time of publication, Wallace R. Farrington was Governor of the Territory of Hawaii, while C.T. Bailey was Commisioner of Public Lands.

On the map, the topography was done by Bishop Moorhead. Contour lines are drawn in 50 foot increments.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
