"Niihau - Hawaiian Islands"

Published by Hawaii Territory Survey, 1904

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This superior reproduction of an early map of Niihau was originally published in 1904 by the U.S. Government. The map is a tracing of the original survey performed by S.M. Kerns, under the supervision of W.D. Alexander.

Alexander was Surveyor General of Hawaii during the monarchy years, and he was first appointed by King Kamehameha V in 1870.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
