"Hawaii Visitors Bureau Map of Honolulu"

Published by Hawaii Visitors Bureau, 1952

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

Since World War II was now over, the Hawaii Visitors Bureau issued this map to promote and encourage tourism, intent on showing that the city of Honolulu was easy to navigate, due to its progressive Hawaii Rapid Transit system (HRT.) The map shows the 16 HRT. lines, including those for electric trolley coaches and both gasoline and diesel buses, as well as pointing out public and historic buildings.

Along the top, the caption reads: "Enjoy All the Attractions of America's Mid-Pacific Metropolis."

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
