"A Map and Bus Guide of Honolulu"
Published by USO of Hawaii, 1945
Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016
Published during World War II, the detailed "A Map and Bus Guide of Honolulu" was issued by the USO for the service men and women living on Oahu.
Of special interest is an image in the upper left corner showing a ship, a bus and a truck, displaying the message: "Your Silver Fleet is Doing "Heavy" Duty! HRT needs your cooperation! If your work does not require your using the buses during the heavy rush hours, please delay your trip so that the more urgently needed war worker may reach his work bench on time."
In the lower left corner is a listing of the twenty-one different rapid transit lines serving the city.
The map was made by James B. Mann, Civil Engineer and Surveyor.
