"Hawaiian Archipelago"

Published by Longman & Co., 1862

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This reproduction of the "Hawaiian Archipelago" was first published in 1862 in London for the first English edition of Hawaii, the Past, Present and Future of its Island Kingdom by Manley Hopkins, the Hawaiian Consul General at the time.

This very rare map was delicately engraved on steel by respected Victorian engraver, Edward Weller, and is embellished with the flag of the Kingdom of Hawaii. We feature it here in a tan version.

An inset map of the Pacific region indicates the location of the islands (shown slightly enlarged) from a global perspective.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
