"Kauai Government Survey"

Published by U.S. Government, 1878

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This beautifully-reproduced map of "Kauai Government Survey" was originally surveyed by W.D. Alexander, Surveyor General to Hawaiian Queen Liliuokalani in the last decade of the monarchy. It was first published in the Annual Report of the United States Geological Survey of 1878.

Of special interest is the compass rose showing magnetic deviation, as well as a chart of mileages from Nawiliwili to various other points on the island.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
