"Lanai Government Survey"

Published by U.S. Government, 1878

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This superb reproduction of the original full color lithograph of the U. S. Government Survey of Lanai was published by Julius Bien & Co. for the U.S. Government.

Surveyed in 1878 by W. D. Alexander and drawn to a scale of 3000 feet to one inch, this map shows the government lands colored in green with the Crown lands left uncolored, as designated in the division of 1848.

The map was drawn by J.F. Brown and M.D. Monsarrat and was surveyed during the reign of King Kalakaua.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
