"Oahu - Hawaiian Islands"

Published by United States Government, 1881

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

Originally printed for a Hawaiian government survey, this superior reproduction of an early map of Oahu was published in the Fourth Annual Report, United States Geological Survey in 1881, and reproduced by permission of the Director of U.S. Geological Surveys.

It states that is was produced "from trigonometrical surveys by W.D. Alexander, C.J. Lyons, J.F. Brown, M.D. Monsarrat and William Webster." Credit for the finished map is given to Richard Covington.

This map is a reduction of the wall map surveyed by W.D. Alexander, Surveyor General of Hawaii during the monarchy years.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
