"Karte vom Atlantischen Ocean"

Published by Justus Perthes, 1837

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This superb reproduction of "Karte vom Atlantischen Ocean" was first published by Justus Perthes of Gotha in 1837. The map was authored by Heinrich Berghaus for his Physikalischer Atlas.

It was engraved and printed by Johann Carl Ausfeld and J.C. Bar.

Outlined in color, this highly-detailed map shows the currents, trade routes, and sea temperatures across the Atlantic Ocean. An inset presents the southern tip of South America.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
