"St. Lucia"

Published by Robert Sayer, 1775

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

This detailed reproduction of the copperplate engraving, "St. Lucia", was originally published in London in 1775 by Robert Sayer, based on the original charting of Thomas Jefferys, Geographer to the King of England.

The time of publication of this map of the Carribbean island comes somewhat after the "Golden Age of Piracy" and on the eve of the American Revolution.

An inset map, "Plan of Carenage", completes the presentation.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
