Plumeria, also known as frangipani or lei flowers, are frequently found in warm tropical areas of the Pacific, especially the islands of Hawaii. This beautiful flower was named after Charles Plumier, a seventeenth century botanist.
One of the perfume makers' favorites, the plumeria is a fairly easy to grow deciduous shrub or small tree. It requires no special care and rewards the gardener with its rich, seductive scent and beautifully colored flowers.
The delicate blossoms can be found in shades of white, pink, yellow and red, or various combinations thereof.
Here, through the mastery of his brush, artist Efren Erese has created an extremely lifelike rendering of a cluster of these exquisite golden yellow floral gems.
