"Mission and Plain of San Fernando"
Published by United States Senate, 1856
Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016
This superb reproduction of an original stone lithograph, colored by a later hand, was published in 1856 by the U.S. Senate. It was the result of a survey done by the U. S. Pacific Railroad to explore and determine the most practical route for a railroad running from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean.
In this view, a man tends to a cactus while cattle graze and the mission of San Fernando is seen in the pastoral plains.
We custom-print this facsimile on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years.
