"Americae Tam Septentrionalis Quam Meridionalis"

Published by Schenk, 1720

This splendid reproduction of the original mapping of North and South America depicts California as an island, and completely disregards the Northwest Territory. In addition, the Hudson Bay is referred to as Buttons Bay, and the St. Lawrence is depicted flowing from Lake Iroquois.

Beautifully wrought with annotated detail, this facsimile was inspired by an engraving originally published by Pieter Shenk of Amsterdam in 1695 and then again in 1720.
