Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016
This wonderfully-detailed reproduction of "No. 5 Map of the United States" was published in Philadelphia by S. Augustus Mitchell in 1852 for "Mitchell's School and Family Geography" atlas. The map was engraved by W. Williams.
It portrays the states and territories, cities and towns, railroads, rivers, and mountains as they existed in the early 19th century. Of special interest are the regions identified by the predominant tribes of Indians.
"No. 6 Map of the Gold Region of California" appears as an inset in the lower left corner.
