Published by Levasseur, 1850
This reproduction map of Asia, with its tastefully colored vignettes, is one of the best examples of mid-19th century French pictorial cartography. Published in Paris in 1850, the map features geography and statistics by Victor Levasseur, engraving by Laguillermie, and illustrations by Raimond Bonheur.
This rare map is a classic record of a period when European explorers often sought, and sometimes found, riches in the Orient.
