"Map of Oregon Territory, West of the Cascade Mountains"
Published by Gardiner, 1855
This rare lithograph was compiled by the Surveyor's General's Office under the direction of C.K. Gardiner in 1855. A description of the standard parallels and their exact locations are specified on this detailed map of the Oregon Territory, as they existed in the mid-19th century.
Of particular interest in this facsimile are Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, the Three Sisters, Diamond Peak and Mt. McLaughlin, as well as proposed surveyed roads and pack trails.
