"Orbis Terrarum Tabula Recens Emendata Et In Lucem Edita"

Published by Keur Brothers, 1680

Printed by Lahaina Printsellers, Ltd., 2016

The original exquisitely hand-colored map of the world in two hemispheres was engraved by Daniel Stoopendaal of Amsterdam. circa 1680. Brothers Pieter and Jacob Keur, the publishers of the map, were noted mainly for publishing Bibles and biblical maps.

The decorative cartouches in the corners are representative of the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia and feature indigenous flora and fauna of those lands.

We custom-print this facsimile map on waterproof canvas in our Lahaina studio using the finest archival inks, which are tested and guaranteed not to fade or shift under normal circumstances for over 100 years. Modern printing techniques allow us to improve and enhance the historical subject matter, even as we're careful to preserve and maintain its historical and artistic integrity.
