Hawaii Rattan Frame
You will find our Rattan Frames available for each piece of art and map, in our standard sizes of 8×10, 12×16 and 16×20.
Our Frames are manufactured exclusively by a small family owned furniture manufacturing facility in Cebu, The Philippines. Rattan is a sustainable product that supports thousands of families throughout the rainforest regions of South East Asia. The plant can meander through the jungle for over a quarter of a mile and its trunk spans between a diameter of 2 1/2 inches down to the thickness of a human hair.
The collection process is performed by hand with a simple machete. The rattan vine cannot survive without the forest. Fortunately, it quickly regenerates and due to this method, protects the forest. Due to its natural pliability, exotic appeal and lightweight qualities, rattan is a favored choice for furniture makers. Our hand-made rattan frames are an all-natural, non mass-produced product. Therefore, no two frames are exactly alike. The outcome is a superior quality frame, designed for art aficionados with discriminating taste.

Hand-made Rattan Frames
Though the design has changed over the years, we commission these Rattan frames through a small family owned company in The Philippines. Your frame is the result of trial and error of the last 20 years! Rattan is a vine-like Palm that requires forest cover in order to thrive. Rattan grows throughout the jungle for over a quarter of a mile. Its trunk can span a diameter of over two inches down to the thickness of a human hair. The harvester’s collection process is performed by hand by a simple machete. Ultimately, the rattan vine cannot survive without the forest. Rattan quickly regenerates. As a result, this method of harvesting protects the destruction of the forest.
